Clinical Healthcare Provision.
La Sierra will have the expertise and resources to provide basic clinical care in appropriate areas within the local community. In the
course of working with nearby populations, researchers and educators using the facility will be able to supply related healthcare services. In addition, initiatives specifically
designed to address public health needs and furnish medical care may use La Sierra as a staging platform. They will enjoy access to first-class field laboratory and clinical
infrastructure, convenient accommodations, and a broad range of clinical needs and opportunities. We believe that La Sierra can play a valuable role in the treatment of infectious
diseases, in rural outbreak management, and in emergency-level care. Healthcare professionals from both within Belize and abroad, from both the academic and provider sectors,
and from both the public and private communities, are welcome. La Sierra offers an important medical resource for the community and for healthcare providers.
It is our goal to establish dynamic and productive partnerships between indigenous people/healers and the international research, education, and provider communities in
biodiversity and health/wellness. We hope to elicit your insight, support, and participation in this effort. We are confident that La Sierra can offer a useful platform for
